It bothers me that he called autism "a preventable disease." Because if he believes that it is caused by vaccines (it's not), then he may be able to use that as an excuse for the government refusing to provide accommodations or other aid. He could say, (in his view) you chose to vaccinate, causing this condition, so now you are ineligible. Above all, though, I am disgusted by the dehumanization going on. Every human being is valuable and worthy of respect.

If vaccines caused autism( which is incredibly false) all military vets myself included especially considering a lot of our vaccines were trial basis and were vaccines only given out for diseases that are in other countries wouldn’t we all be autistic? Idk haven’t met any vets or myself who became autistic after joining the service? 😂😂 can’t help but laugh at the incompetence. This is so insane folks I so wish we had a plan to end this nightmare myself and so many others around the world want off this horror show of the hunger games why can’t we get some good news for once instead of this complete insanity that an 8 year old knows better?

Absolutely agree with you 100%. RFK and his ilk are masters at making their points without ever actually talking about their points.

This is not about clarifying the breadth and diversity of the neurodivergent or autistic expericne.

This is about the idea that a human beings worth can be diminished into what value they provide in a capitalized society.

Thw correct repose is to reject that premise.

What if every single American capable of standing and speaking stood up all at once and said "I'm autistic" like the end scene in Spartacus? Form a wall in front of our high support need friends, like "you need to get through us first". A whole arena in unison stomping and shouting I AM AUTISM.

This whole administration is focused on culling, not only those deemed “mentally deficient,” but all of us they see as not having the ability to contribute to their dream of total wealth and power. Their illusion, and purpose, is to rid this country of ALL they see as undesirable, or in a Nutshell, not a Male WASC (the ‘C’ is for Christian, it’s no longer just Protestants).

I have been thinking that by removing all support for people and society, they signal that they just want anyone who isn’t obscenely wealthy or physically fit to just die. I wonder who they think will do all the work? Many of us have invisible problems.

I totally agree and they do not care what we think. They are becoming more and more blatant in their aims.

This was my first instinct too. Too horrible to contemplate but it’s obvious this is what he means. You articulate the not so hidden agenda very clearly in this piece.

Thank you for this post I have been thinking about this a lot lately (as a low support needs AuADHD person) and you set it all out so beautifully. We are human beings, not machines to be used.

The rise of the Third Reich…America is in the grips of a dictatorship. No opposition will be tolerated. The vilification of Immigrants , LGBTQ , non Christians, media, journalists, scientists, universities, the sick and infirm and lastly the opposition.. Remember when Germany was number one in healthcare and science and had a great economy. And one man tore that all down in 53 days. Sound familiar.

Paulette, did you mean to say Germany?

From Academia: prior to Hitler..Prior to the 1930s, Germany had some of the world's oldest and best universities.

Then it changed. This is largely a due to historical reasons. Two events caused the change. First, the influx of refuge scientists prior to World War II boosted US Science (e.g., this article). Probably the most famous scientist to flee Germany to the US was Albert Einstein.

Second, the US funded science much better than Germany after World War II. This extra funding was partially done out of fear of Soviet science and partially an artifact that the US economy was the only one not destroyed or heavily damaged by the war.

From various books and things I have read on Germany prior to the rise of the Reich. The health and the scientists were ahead of the United States. It’s not until Hitler came into rule that they lost their scientists and professors. A lot of them to the United States. It is in interesting that they were doing well prior to Hitler like us. Their scientists left just like ours are doing currently ..It’s a stark reminder comparison to what’s happening today. Our country will not be great again and it will take us years to recover.

I watched a documentary on how nurses were part of the genocide during the Reich, which as a nurse I can’t imagine. But it talked about how they were leading the world in science and health, but that all changed once Hitler took power.

Excellent reply. A history review. Much appreciated. Their economy was not in good shape however. That part of your writing was why I asked…

As I always say, RFK is not a doctor, has multiple issues of his own, and is unqualified for his post. Everything that comes out of his mouth is garbage and harmful. I don't believe anything that this whole administration says.

It's that awful eugenicist "taker/maker" or "deserving/underserving" dichotomy dressed up as concern for families by an arrogant, deluded, selfish man (RFK Jr.) who sees himself as some kind of savior. He's the embodiment of that Vietnam-era idea of "We had to burn the village in order to save it." Does he have any idea of an autistic person as a human being? Bobby Jr. is just so, so dangerous, and Trump gave him the keys to the whole American health care/medical research/public health system and told him to go "wild." Imagine the character Mayhem from the car insurance commercials as HHS Secretary.
